India Hosts First Khelo India Tribal Games

India marked a significant milestone in grassroots sports development by organising the first-ever Khelo India Tribal Games 2026 in Chhattisgarh. Held across Raipur, Jagdalpur, and Sarguja, the Games brought together over 2,300 tribal athletes from across the country, competing in disciplines such as athletics, football, hockey, archery,wrestling, etc. Designed to identify and nurture talent from remote and indigenous communities, the event reflects the government’s push to expand sporting opportunities under the Khelo India initiative. The inaugural edition not only celebrated tribal culture and sporting excellence but also strengthened India’s vision of inclusive and nationwide sports development.
